Hood River Charging Station Live, EV Getaway in the Works
As part of National Plug In Weekend festivities Sept. 22 & 23, EV Roadmap will be raffling off a free Hood River getaway that will come with a rental EV, a night at the Hood River Hotel, dinner for two at Full Sail Brewing and Stand-Up Paddle Board Rentals from Big Winds Event Site Beach Center.
The promotion comes on the heels of the installation of the Hood River Charging Station in downtown Hood River at the west end of the city parking lot near the corner of 7th and Columbia streets. The charging station is part of the West Coast Green Highway and supplements hundreds of other charging staitons being installed as part of the Blink Network by ECOtality. These and other infrastructure efforts are making EV tourism as easy as with conventional cars at a fraction of the cost of gas-powered vehicles.
The Hood River station includes a DC fast-charge station and a Level 2 extended charge station. The Oregon Department of Transporation will be installing signs along I-84 and I-5 informing drivers of electric vehicles where they can fuel up, including in Hood River.
